A large business had identified two of it’s field data systems that it wished to interconnect and share between them its own client-generated live data. These systems were from different suppliers and each with their own protocols. We investigated the proposed interface and referred in detail to the recent European Directive that allows interconnection of business IT systems under specific circumstances. We then prepared a report identifying the technical issues and how they reflected on the likely application of both the European Directive that allows connections, and also on information already in the Public Domain.
